"Maa" Coral Bay Beach
The beach is regarded as one of the best organized beaches in Paphos. Because of the closed Bay the sea is always calm and this allows secure and safe swimming. The clear sandy shores, the clean blue sea and numerous other excellent facilities are enough incentive to attract thousands of visitors locals and tourists. This is perhaps the reason why 2000, on average, swimmers, locals and foreigners choose the Coral Bay Beach during the summer.
No less than 18 years "Maa" Coral Bay Beach has been awarded with the EU blue flag for its level of cleanliness and the brilliant facilities offered in line with the uniform standards set by the European Union. This means that it meets the standards for bathing water quality, cleanliness of the coast, the hygiene areas, and the safety of bathers, information and environmental education activities.
Specifically, the beach offers two stands - cafes where someone can find locker rooms with showers as well as toilets for the disabled. Across the beach there are facilities with all kind of water sports like jet ski, parachuting, canoe, speed boats etc. The swimmers can also obtain beds and umbrellas and enjoy moments of relaxation under the supervision of experienced lifeguards.
In recent years the area of Coral Bay has developed greatly. It has taverns, bars and other entertainment venues and hotels that were built with great sensitivity and respect for the environment. Coral Bay ‘s hotels have fully equipped gyms with qualified trainers, tennis courts also a Water park and an Olympic – size swimming pool are available in this area.
Very close to Coral Bay Beach is located Laourou beach that is suitable for relaxation and tranquility. This beach is often preferred by families and hosts an average of 1000 bathers daily, during the summer months.
Because of the uniqueness that characterizes it has been awarded for 16 consecutive years with the blue flag award. This means that it meets the standards for bathing water quality, cleanliness of the coast, the hygiene areas, and the safety of bathers, information and environmental education activities.
The beach is supervised by lifeguards also there are additional services, like umbrellas, beds etc. Across the beach there are hotels and restaurants.
Other spectacular beaches that are located in the area of Pegeia is Keratide beach, the Maniki beach in Kafizis area, the beaches across the Glyky Nero area, Sea Caves and St. George of Pegeia near the fishing harbor. Also, along the seafront of Pegeia there are beaches and bays that impress with their unusual beauty and attract the lovers of deserted beaches.
Sea Caves – Kantarkasti
The magnificent spectacle of the geomorphology of the coast is perhaps the only one in Cyprus. Deep caves on the shore that opened the insatiable waves of the sea, small islands and rocks characterize the scene. Within these caves, the seals resorted to breed, so, the area was named Seal Caves.
