#EDRO III Shipwreck

The sea caves, a place with unique views, is also hosting the EDRO III Shipwreck which is today a sightseeing spot well-known all over Cyprus. The ship named EDRO III, under the flag of SIERRA  LEONE, emitted a signal at 06:10 on 8.12.2011 alerting mechanical trouble. Due to the seastorm that day, the ship hit on the rocks of the sea caves, where it has remained to this day.

During that time, an insurance company attempted to move and tow it, but that was not possible for numerous reasons. In fact, the ship’s captain did not abandon it, until its future was to be determined.

At the side of the shipwreck, one can find a café / restaurant and benches overlooking the sea, and the view of the ship puts visitors in a romantic mood.
