Maniki beach is unique for its natural environment, as well as for its history. Each year, it hosts thousands of visitors from different countries, leaving them with unique memories.

The archaeological team from the University of New York proceeded with underwater investigations in Maniki area, south of Agios Georgios.

According to history, this ancient port was the basic port for the ancient settlement of Agios Georgios and Geronisos from the Hellenistic to the Early Christian period. Various archaeologists and scientists, including a team from the Leon Recanati Institute for Maritime Studies of the University of Haifa have studied this region.
